Brooke Linville is a writer, story-teller, entrepreneur, single mom, and high conflict divorce coach.
Brooke has been writing and thinking about gender— and in particular the ways that women and power intersect— since she was a young adult on assignment at the UN’s Conference on Women. It was this interest in upholding spaces for women specifically that led her to jump into the effort to successfully save the women’s college she attended but did not graduate from. Brooke’s efforts were the backbone of the $12 million online fundraising that secured the college’s future and were the subject of her 2018 inspirational Tedx talk.
Additional publishing credits include The Virginian Pilot, The Idaho Statesman, The Idaho Business Review, Chicken Soup for the Soul, Entropy, and Women’s eNews. Brooke has an engaged online audience with over 10,000 followers across multiple platforms. She has numerous viral posts exceeding 10,000 shares and regularly exceeds a million views monthly on Threads. If you’ve ever ruined Thanksgiving in 4 words, that was Brooke!
Brooke has professional experience in building online audiences and digital marketing campaigns, having previously run her own business doing so. In that role, she helped launch multiple parenting blogs, including The Fearless Formula Feeder (leading to the publication of Bottled Up (2012)) and The Orange Rhino (leading to the publication of Yell Less, Love More (2014)).
Brooke also co-founded a high-tech virtual reality startup that led to multiple discussions at Google, Samsung, Disney, and others. The product was featured at the Consumer Electronics Show and in national tech media. As a result, Brooke is extensively media trained and comfortable with both in-house and external PR firms. Brooke was named a Woman of the Year in 2016 by The Idaho Business Review as well as named a Distinguished Alumnae of Sweet Briar College.
Brooke has been featured on podcasts as well as in numerous articles on technology, education, and digital marketing. Brooke is a member of multiple national NPE groups for those who have made unexpected DNA discoveries.
Brooke is currently working on a memoir, MARROW, that explores the topics of family secrets and identity.
Raising $12 million didn’t just teach me about fundraising – though it did do that. Raising $12 million taught me how to value myself.
Brooke’s true stories have also appeared on-stage as a part of Boise’s Story, Story Night. She was invited to participate in their Slammer of the Year competition in the fall of 2017. She has also spoken at Boise Startup Week.
In 2023, after protecting her own children, Brooke completed high conflict divorce coaching training and launched a business to help others who are trying to leave abusive marriages and protect their children.
Brooke spends what little free time she has doing crossword puzzles, binge watching Netflix, and trying to cook the perfect ribeye. She has recently begun singing in public, which brings her great joy!
